 24VDC OVER-ENERGIZER

The PR11OE24 is a solid-state over-energization power supply relay for 24 VDC loads. By applying an initial over-voltage, turn-on times of typical loads can be reduced by up to 75%. By reducing the load response time, cycle rates in high-speed applications can be increased dramatically.

In addition to solenoid valves, the PR11OE24 can be used to rapidly energize wrap-spring clutch solenoids. An added benefit is improved turn-on consistency.

OPERATION
Upon initiation, the PR11OE24 supplies 150 VDC (peak) to the load, resulting in fast energization. Following over-energization, the solid-state output pole remains ON. Customer-supplied 24 VDC keeps the load energized.

The PR11OE24’s fast flux decay circuit provides fast turn-off of the load when the initiate signal is removed. No protective components are needed with inductive loads.

NOTES
1. Initiating contact may be any switch, transistor, photo or proximity sensor, or PLC output capable of switching 10 mA at 24 VDC. Current sourcing or sinking can be used.
2. Load must not be grounded. Terminal 2 may be grounded if connected to a separate 24 VDC power supply.
3. Turn-off time can be reduced by installing a resistor between 24 VDC supply and +24 IN terminal to reduce holding current. Initial over-energization voltage will not be affected.
